God’s Love Never Fails – Prayer to Bless the ones I encounter.

June 25th, 2009

God, Your love is unfailing. You are unfailing and always there. When I walk out from under Your love, I hear You call me and  I  return to You. I  look  for  You in whatever I do.

The many people You have put around me, the many you have let me meet, the many who You have allowed to come into my life, and even the many that I do not know. Bless them. Send Your spirit and live through each of them. Show them Your awesome love. There are so many of them who want You. Bless them. Give them their hearts desires. Let them always continue to burn for You. Use them. May You let Your beautiful light shine through them, and may that light shine as beautiful as all the colors of the earth making  the dark paths bright so that others may be able to see You. Bless them all. Bless the ones who are reading this. Use them. Lead them. Let them know they are never alone, they are never forsaken, that they are special because they are Your children.

Please God use them all. Don’t let a one of them not be used. Come down and reign inside of us all. All of us are undeserving of You. You owe us nothing. We owe You everything. We owe all to You. Use our lives God. Your love never fails, You never leave us. Thank You God. I Love You! :)

Love never fails. And NOW abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:1-8a, 13

He love us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loves us, we also ought to love one another. 1 John 4:10-12

Trust In God With ALL Your Heart – Prayer

May 3rd, 2009

TRUST IN GOD with all your heart, all your mind, and let Him lead You. Don’t look at the things of this world. Look at God. Watch Him. He is perfect in everyway and He is always there when You need Him.

“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.” John 14:1

God, You are so Awesome to me. You name brings so much comfort to me. Just hearing Your voice eases away pain. Thoughts of You bring so much joy into my life. Everyday I want to feel Your presence. Just knowing I’m right there with You makes me feel so awesome inside. I will always call upon Your name when I am feeling low, because You lift me up. You take away all my burdens and help me to stand on my feet again. You lift me up on wings like eagles.

“But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31

You put in me a greater strength than I’ve had ever before. You take my sorrows, You take my sadness; and You turn them into joy and gladness. You take all of my shame and all of my pain, and turn it into a life giving rain, that runs through me replentishing all my heart and soul. I will never take You for granted God. To You I owe back all You have given me. You will not lack anything of me God. I want to give You my all in all that I do. Help me to never let Your words depart from me. Help me to keep them in my heart, mind, and sight at all times.

“Do not let them depart from your sight; Keep them in the midst of your heart. For they are life to those who find them And health to all their flesh.” Proverbs 4:22

I will speak forth Your word day and night, and will praise Your name forever. I will sing of Your awesome love, and amazing grace. I will keep my eyes focused on You, and never turn them to anything of this world. I will move looking at You, and Trusting you to guide my feet to walk the right path. I will not look down. I will not trust my own ways. For there is no light upon the path, and I cannot see it. But I can see You and You will guide me. You will be a light, and You will light up my path. I will hold Your hand as lead me into Your presence. Through all my troubles You carry me. You will not put me down, or ever let me fall. Whenever I stumble, You catch me, and set me up on my feet again. You are my God.

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light to my path” Psalm 119:105

I will trust in You, God! I give You my heart, take it and keep it. Don’t ever let me have it back. I can’t guard it how can. Take my mind. Keep it. Don’t let me think of negative things. Filter it God, and install in it thought of Hope. Let me only think of You. Take my Spirit, Hold me in Your arms. I am safe where ever You are. Lead me God. I want to be filled with You.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge him, And he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust God and He Will Bring the Giants Down

April 16th, 2009

The other day I was reading the story of David and Goliath.  Now if you are like me, then you have heard that story countless times. But in my reading the other day, the Lord revealed some truths, and gave me some insight that I had never gotten from the story before.

The Israelite army had been fighting against their enemies, the Philistines, and were camped opposite them with a valley in between. All of a sudden, out of the clear blue, this giant dude shows up. He was over nine feet tall, majorly buff and had an attitude that matched. He at once began to bully Israel, challenging them and defying their God.

Goliath challenged one of Israel’s soldiers to come and fight him. If they won, then the Philistines would be Israel’s slaves, but if they lost, and  if this giant troublemaker won, then Israel would be enslaved to the enemy.

For forty days, morning and night, the giant came out and challenged God’s people. And for forty days, no progress was made. Gloom and despair loomed overhead. Depression and fear engulfed the camp. No one dared to take the giant up on his challenge. That is, until one day a young shepherd boy showed up.

David had just arrived at the camp when the Israelites lined up as usual to face the Philistines. And, as usual, out came Goliath. Once again, he mocked and jeered, bullied and sneered, and once again, the Israelite soldiers cowered and feared and ran away. David, was appalled. He could not understand why or how Israel could allow one man to stand in the way of their victory over the enemy.

David’s brothers quickly informed the young, innocent, and what they considered to be ignorant boy to mind his business. Didn’t he note the size of the guy? Didn’t he see his huge sword? Didn’t he see the massive armor and hear the daunting message from the booming voice of this massive enemy? Just what part of the whole situation was David not getting?

But, in reality, David did get it. He looked beyond the giant and saw God. He knew Who he believed in and no matter how big, how scary, how mean, how massive, the enemy was, God was bigger. David focused on what we oftentimes,  fail to see. He focused on the solution to the problem, rather than on the problem itself. He trusted God. Pure and simple. He didn’t doubt. He didn’t second guess. He just flat out trusted and believed God’s word over the word of the enemy.

So, David without any hesitation announced loud and long that he would face the enemy and would defeat him. Upon hearing David’s proclamation, King Saul, tried to dissuade the eager and what he thought to be overzealous young man. But once he realized that David was determined, Saul then tried to help him out. He urged David to take his armor, his weaponry. He tried to get David to do things his way.

But, David wasn’t comfortable with King Saul’s methods. He listened to the advice and then rather than trusting the words and ways of man, surrendered to the higher ways of God. He knew God’s way for His life. He knew God wouldn’t leave Him. He trusted the One Who had never let him down against obstacles and giants in the past and that is exactly what he chose to do in facing this giant.

So, David went out. He faced Goliath head own. No reservations. No turning back. No doubts. No worries. He had God. He declared to the enemy that he was not afraid. He lifted up the name of God above the giant blocking his victory. And though the giant roared. Though he showed his ugliness. Though he puffed himself up bigger and bigger. David didn’t waver. He took what God had given him, his talents, and his abilities, and stepped out in faith. Then with the twirling of a leather strap, and the hurling of a little stone, the giant went tumbling down. And when that bully went down, the rest of the enemies scattered.

You see, it was God’s will that Israel defeated the Philistines. David knew that, and Goliath was standing in the way of God’s will. Goliath represents anything that is standing in the way of God’s will for your life. What kind of Goliaths are you facing right now? Are you fearful? Are you depressed? Is there a giant problem standing right smack in the way and keeping you from what you know God wants for your life?

Then you need to know a few things. First of all, God is bigger than anything you face. Quit worrying and listening to the voice of the enemy. “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He  who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” (John 4:4 NKJV). So realize that! Take hold of it and let the Spirit of the living God come alive inside of you. Let God arise in you and your enemies will scatter.(Psalm 68:1)

Secondly, you need to realize something else. You need to realize that God has given you everything you need to face any challenge, any obstacle, any giant that comes against you. He has equipped you with certain talents and abilities that He fully intends and expects you to use. Perhaps you are struggling right now with some areas in your life, because you are using methods and ways other than the ones God has purposed for you to use. You need to use what God gave you, no matter what others may tell you. David could not use the things that were unfamiliar to him. He had to trust God with what God had given him. The same applies to you.

The last thing I want to point out is that you need to put your trust in the God of David. He is the giant slayer. He is the One who will go before you and bring down every opposing force that stands between you and His purpose for your life, that is, IF you declare Him Lord over your life. When David saw the enemy. When he heard his bullying remarks, when he heard Goliath mock his God and challenge his faith, he reacted. He stood his ground. He let the Spirit of the God that he had loved and trusted, the One who had carried him through his darkest nights, the One who had never once failed Him, rise up inside him. Then he proclaimed to those around him and to the enemy facing him that God was bigger. David declared the victory before he ever stepped foot on the battlefield. He had made up his mind that God was bigger and that the giant was going down. He didn’t doubt. He wasn’t ashamed. He didn’t care if his friends and family thought he was insane. He put his faith above all else and because of that, Goliath fell.

It’s time you do the same. It’s time to step out in faith. Trust in the God who loves you, who knows what is best for you, and declare His victory over the giants you are facing. And know this, once you declare Him Lord over that situation, that problem, that circumstance, then God will bring your giants down!

Another Prayer

April 14th, 2009
God, You are mighty, You are awesome! Thank You for all you have given me. Your love reaches out to me and holds me up. You see me when I am weak, and haven’t even let me fall. You hear my voice when I cry out to you, and not once have you ignored me oh God. I call You in the morning, and by night You have already answered me. Keep me from turning my ear away from You, and let me hear the Words that I am supposed to hear. Don’t let me put words into Your mouth so that I hear what I want to hear, but let me only hear Your voice. My flesh is weak and wants only worldly things, but my spirit is willing, and wants only what you want me to have.

“Keep watching and praying that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Matthew 26:41

You have saved me from all the evils that come near me, and have given me strength in you. Oh God form me. Form me to be who You want me to be. Guide my feet, and lift up my hands so that I may serve You forever. Mold my spirit and let me close to You at all times. You have given me all that I have. I can’t thank you enough for it. I don’t deserve anything You have given me, yet You love me and have given me so much. I will praise You all of my life, and give You all that I have. You have my hands, You have my feet, You have my soul, You have my spirit and everything else of me. Use me. Work through me and let Your beautiful light shine through me so I can shine through through the darkness of the world, helping those who’s lives are dimmed or dark see the path to You. I can’t describe how thankful I am for Your love, oh God. Thank You for loving me.

Just a Prayer I decided to Write Out

April 13th, 2009

Whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy – meditate on these things. Philippians 4:8

Oh God, let me meditate on your Word. Help me not to forget to speak it all day long, and talk about your great works. You God give me life. Every breath that I take, let it be in You. And every step I take, let in be on the path that leads to you. Help me to follow you at all times, so that way I can lead others.

God, you are my strength, and my desire is to stay by your side. You are my courage at all times. I know I can always call on you and you will hear me. Your love never leaves me, for you created the love I have for others, and yours is by far greater. Your hand is mighty and strong, and can rescue me from whatever evil comes towards me. Just one Word from your mouth can stop any troubles that come against me.

Cast your burden on the Lord, and he shall sustain you, He shall never permit the righteous to be moved. Psalms 55:22

God you said in Your Word, that there are many people to harvest, but just a few workers. “There are many people to harvest, but the workers are few. Matthew 9:37″. Let me be one of those workers. Use me, God. Use my hands, and my feet. Work through me, and show Your Glory through me. Pour out Your love and Grace on me, and fill me with your Holy Spirit. So that everything I say or do, will be what you have called me to do.

Thank you for loving me, and caring for me. Though I have done nothing to deserve your kindness. Everyone has sinned, and you still love us. Though our sin is what killed Your only Son, you have forgiven us, and then given us a free gift of Eternal Life, that all we must do is accept it, by walking down the path towards it. Many obstacles are before me, but I thank you for moving them out of my way. There are many paths to take, but there is no one like You God. I choose You.

Don’t Run Away from God – Run Away from Temptation

April 5th, 2009

Don’t run away from God. Don’t go your own way. Don’t choose a path that is not in the right direction. But instead keep God’s Word in your heart. Meditate on His Word day and night. Keep right beside God at all times, and remember, if you are with Him, then He has to be with you. A sheep doesn’t lead the shepherd, but the shepherd leads the sheep. God is the shepherd, and we are His sheep. So follow God, and you will save your life from destruction and troubles.

Don’t run away from God for things you have done in the past. Don’t ever think you are not able to be forgiven. For God understands. While Jesus was on this earth, He was tempted more than you ever were, and ever will be. Remember God will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able.

“No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13

Remember that verse, and when being tempted, always look for the way of escape, and you will find it. But just finding the way of escape isn’t good enough, you must take it. Keep in mind the Spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. Keep your mind on the things that matter. Keep your head turned towards God, and away from all temptation. Surround yourself with what will keep you on track. And never turn around, or run the other way for any reason. God Loves you.

“Watch and pray, that you do not enter into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Matthew 26:41

“My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness. So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9

Take a Stand

March 25th, 2009

“What blessings await you when people hate you and exclude you and mock you and curse you as evil because you follow the Son of Man. When that happens, be happy! Yes, leap for joy! For a great reward awaits you in heaven.”
Luke 6:22-23

Life is not easy, especially when you decide to take a stand for Jesus. As a matter of fact, sometimes it seems even harder when we look around and see all the people that aren’t serving God seemingly so “happy go lucky”.

There have been times in my life when things were so difficult. In my efforts to stand up for God, I was literally made fun of, and “left out” because I chose to follow God rather that a “good time”. Oh it was hard. Many times I was tempted just to give in to shut up the taunting, or to just lower my standards a little just so that I wouldn’t feel so weird or different. Just once go along with the crowd so that I could fit in.

And there were times that I did. Little things like watching a movie with a friend that I knew God wouldn’t want me to see. Or talking about someone, making fun of them because everyone else was. Just little things, right?

Well, according to God, when you feel something is wrong in your heart, and you do it anyway, you are putting your flesh above your spirit. you are putting that thing you desire ahead of doing what God wants you to. And all for the sake of how you look. All for the sake of your reputation to your friends. Basically, you are putting their opinion of you higher than God’s.

Jesus knew all about being mocked. He knew all about being made fun of. His own family made fun of Him. Called him crazy. In His own hometown, the place He grew up, no one accepted Him. They didn’t believe in Him. Oh, He knew way better than you or me what it felt like to be ridiculed for what doing right.  He knew what it felt like to be all alone for not going along with the crowd. He knew what it was like to not fit in. he knew what it was like to have a calling on His life to be different. Think about it. His whole life, He had to make choices, just like you and me. He had to choose not to make fun of people, not to sneak out, not to disobey, not to look at or listen to things that everybody else was just because it was popular. But, He did it. And because of His stand, a stand that He took and died for ….. we should stand for Him.

When you do, He says… Be Happy! that’s right, be happy when others make fun of you and mock you, or put you down, or try to make you feel stupid. He said that you will be blessed! God will take care of you. Please Him, and great will your reward be!

But, reward or no reward, Isn’t He just worth standing up for?
